TeamWarfare is releasing the source code for its Battlefield 6 2v2 Tank Experience to establish an open-source standard that prevents logic-based cheating while inviting the community to collaboratively master the powerful, undocumented Portal tools.
PLACEHOLDER RULESET. Adapted from the TWL Battlefield 6 2v2 Tanks ladder rules for the Conscripted Combat format. Numbers marked (TBC) are working values for the first season and will be confirmed before the ladder opens.
Conscripted Combat is Battlefield 6 Conquest played at proper scale — without demanding that every team keep a full-size roster. A team registers a core roster of a few committed players and fills the rest of its line, match by match, from a public conscript pool that any TWL member can join. Before each match the two captains snake-draft the pool into their sides. The draw for first pick is redrawn every match, so no team farms the same favourites twice.
Matches are played across 3 maps of Conquest, each map two halves with sides swapped. Win 2 maps to win the match.
This is the section that makes this ladder different. Read it twice.
Every team keeps a core roster (Section 8). The core roster is the team. It is the only thing that can challenge, accept, schedule, report and dispute.
Conscripts are TWL members who join a single match's pool and are drafted onto a side for that match only. A conscript is not a roster member: drafting does not add them to the team, does not count against roster limits, and creates no obligation beyond that one match. A player may be a conscript for any team, including one they have played against.
The first season deliberately has no automatic penalty for a conscript who signs up but does not show. Captains: draft players you trust. Admins will track no-shows, and repeat offenders may be barred from pools at admin discretion. A team that cannot field the minimum at match time is handled under Section 7.2, conscripts or not.
Maps are selected from the Map Pool shown on the ladder page using the TWL Portal experience codes (map list TBC — see the ladder's map pool).
Matches are Best-of-3 maps. Each map is played as two halves with sides swapped; the team with the higher combined ticket total across both halves wins the map. First to 2 maps wins the match.
All members of all teams — core and conscript alike — are responsible for treating each other with respect during the match. Players are expected to conduct themselves with a professional and courteous attitude towards other players and Admins at all times. Unsportsmanlike behaviour (spamming, taunting, direct insults) reported to and verified by the ladder Admins can lead to disciplinary action against the player, and against the team if severe. Racist or sexist remarks will not be tolerated. Play nice.
A conscript's conduct is the conscript's responsibility, but a captain who knowingly drafts a player currently under sanction shares it.
Each side fields 12 (TBC) players: core roster members plus that match's drafted conscripts, in any mix. A side may field fewer core players and more conscripts, but never more conscripts than were drafted for it.
Each team must field a minimum of 8 players (TBC) at match time. If a team cannot, it must either forfeit or reschedule with the cooperation of the opposing captain. If neither team can fill the minimum, the match is nullified unless both captains agree to play short.
Core roster members must be on the roster before the Defender accepts the challenge and remain on it until the match is completed. Conscripts are eligible only for the match they were drafted for (Section 2.4). A player may be on the core roster of only one team on this ladder, but may conscript for any match they are not rostered in.
Link your Steam/EA account to your TWL profile. Conscripts in particular will be verified against the match snapshot.
Should a player disconnect, an eligible player may fill the spot or the dropped player may rejoin. Anyone joining the opposing team's side for over 30 seconds is considered observing and subjects their team to forfeiture of the match or replay of the map. Player rotation between maps is acceptable if done in a timely manner. Substitutes who are not eligible (a core member, a drafted conscript, or an undrafted pool member agreed in Match Comms) force an immediate forfeit.
Smurfing is signing up for more than one team on the same ladder, playing for a team you are not eligible for, or using a false identity. Joining a conscript pool under a second account is smurfing. Minimum punishment, at TWL staff discretion: the team the smurf played for most recently is removed; the smurf's original team is dropped 33% of the ladder; the smurf's accounts and access are revoked.
You can challenge anyone above you 3 slots or 25% of the remaining ladder from your current rank — whichever is higher. All ladders have a 72-hour limit for challenge and date acceptance; after that a flag is raised for the Admins and forfeits may be granted.
It is the captains' shared responsibility to open the draft in good time (Section 2.3). A captain who is not available to draft may delegate to another captain of the same team.
Matches start at the agreed time with a 15-minute grace period. Teams should have the minimum number of players on the server no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled time; both teams should be ready no later than 30 minutes after, or the non-compliant party forfeits.
Before the match starts, each captain must check that every player on the server is a core roster member or a drafted conscript for that match. After match start, roster disputes are not valid grounds for forfeiture.
A rescheduled match must be within 3 days of the original time and may be rescheduled once, by mutual consent in Match Comms. A reschedule voids the draft: the pool reopens and the draft is redrawn so conscripts are not held to a time they never agreed to.
Between maps, a maximum of 10 minutes (15 if switching servers) is allowed before starting the next map.
All match communications take place through the TWL Discord Match Comms system. Drafted conscripts can read Match Comms; captains speak for their side. Server details, the password and map choices are posted there; captains relay anything their conscripts need.
Disputes are handled by the ladder Admin and must be submitted no more than 1 hour after the match. Do not report a loss if you plan to dispute. Once a match has started, both teams are understood to have agreed to its terms — including the conscript sheet. All match issues should be resolved within 48 hours.
Exploiting map bugs — going under the map, shooting through texture flaws, hiding in unreachable geometry — is prohibited. The rules are guidelines; Admins may rule on disputes outside the published set.
TWL maintains a zero tolerance policy for cheating and hacking. Prohibited: switching teams to observe, server-side mods without the opposing captain's permission, kicking opposing players, changing the map outside the agreed rotation, dead-to-live communication, any client-side modification that enhances aim or visibility, and map exploits.
| Violation Type | First Offense | Second Offense | Third Offense |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minor Infractions | Warning + Match Forfeit | 10 Rung Drop + Suspension | Ladder Removal |
| Major Infractions | Match Forfeit + Suspension | Ladder Removal | TWL Ban |
| Hacking/Aimbots | Immediate TWL Ban | Permanent Ban | Permanent Ban |
| Team Conspiracy | Team Ladder Removal | Team TWL Ban | Team Permanent Ban |
A conscript caught cheating is sanctioned as a player; the team is sanctioned only if it knew.
Servers must use a TWL BF6 experience code and must be equitable for both teams: ping difference should not exceed 75ms between the teams, with players over 250ms discarded from the average. The home team chooses the server; if no neutral server can be agreed, maps 1 and 3 are on the Home choice and map 2 on the Away choice. Ensure the server can hold 24 players plus Admin slots (TBC) before the match begins.
TWL Admins oversee ladder operations, resolve disputes and have final say on all match-related issues. Admins may observe any match. Contact a TWL Admin via Discord immediately for a ruling; if none is available, postpone and file a dispute.
Match results will be reported no later than 1 hour after the conclusion of a match. First offence: 10 rung drop. Second: removal from the ladder. By reporting the results, teams waive their right to protest. Once a match has been played, neither team can challenge the other for 7 days.
Teams inactive for three weeks are removed from the ladder (rest time excepted). Teams in #1 position are not eligible for a timeout.
Ladder-specific rules supersede the corresponding general ladder rule.
No. Every match on this ladder has a conscript pool. When a challenge goes up you will see a "Conscript Pool Open" post in Discord and a pool panel on the match row of the ladder page — press Join. Before the match the two captains draft the pool into their sides. If you are drafted, you play; the match goes on your record like any other.
Finding a team can be a very rewarding experience, the easiest way to get started is to socialize in our Discord while staying tuned to happenings within it as well as scrimmages, match results and more. It can take time and it can take a few tries as well, if you're looking for more advice you can always check #channel-name as well as ask ladder admins and team captains and owners.
Once the match is scheduled, either captain opens the draft. A random draw decides who picks first, then the order snakes (A, B, B, A, A, B …) so neither side gets a run of consecutive picks. Captains pick on the web or straight from the Discord menu — each pick asks you to confirm before it counts. The draft ends when every slot is filled or the pool is empty, and the final sheet is posted with the drafted players tagged.
Tell your captain in good time — they can substitute an undrafted pool member with the other captain's agreement. There is no automatic penalty this season, but admins keep track, and captains talk. Sign up for matches you can make.
Team captains and owners will see a challenge icon beside eligible teams on the ladder page. First, select the specific ladder from the "Competition" menu. Once on the ladder standings page, look for the icon next to teams ranked above you. Note that you can only have one active challenge at a time per ladder.
There are a few reasons a team might not be available for a challenge:
When you issue a challenge, you must submit three possible dates and times that work for your team. The defending team then selects one of these three options. If none of the submitted times work for the defender, both teams must use Match Comms in Discord to agree on an alternative time. Once an agreement is reached, an Admin can adjust the official match time.
All ladders have a time limitation for match responses (presently 72 hours). If a team fails to accept a challenge or confirm a date within this window, a "Flag" is created for Admins. This typically results in a forfeit win (often called a "llama") for the challenging team and a drop in rungs for the inactive team.
You can use our PUG Bot in the Discord (check #pug-announce) to find practice matches or scrimmages. You can even install the bot in your own team's server using the /install command to increase your visibility to potential opponents.
Rant boards are discussion rooms that are created when a match challenge is accepted, they last until the match is resolved after which point they are permanently deleted. They are a no-holds-barred area that is not moderated (aside from adherence TWL Terms of Service) and often used for predictions, good wishes and jeers.
Teams that win matches take over the ladder rung of the defeated who, in turn, gets moved just below the victor.
Yes, team membership can change at any time except when your team has a pending challenge. However, choose carefully as frequent team changes may affect your standing in the community.
All disputes are handled by the ladder admin on a case-by-case basis. Most disputes are resolved within 48 hours. The admin has the authority to reset scores, remove teams, and assign match results as necessary.
If you suspect a player or team is cheating or exploiting, report it immediately to the ladder admin. Evidence such as screenshots or recordings is often required. Penalties can include account bans and team score resets.
